Welcome! This page provides essential instructions to prepare you for your procedure involving local anesthesia.

WHY THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IMPORTANT

Your compliance with these instructions is crucial for ensuring your safety during local anesthesia administration. By following the guidelines provided, you help us create a safe and smooth surgical experience.

BEFORE local ANESTHESIA SEDATION

Please follow these instructions to prepare for oral surgery with Local Anesthesia.

  • Light Meal: You may eat a light breakfast or lunch prior to surgery.
  • Medications: Take all your medications (including antibiotics if prescribed) on time unless otherwise directed.
  • Ice Packs: Make ice packs prior to surgery. Suggestion: freeze wet and folded washcloths
  • Transportation: You may drive yourself to the office on the day of surgery.
    • No driving or operating machinery if you were prescribed and need to take any narcotic pain medication(s).
  • Diet Preparation: The day prior to surgery, please prepare soft foods (i.e. Jell-O, applesauce, mashed potatoes) as well as plenty of clear fluids to drink (i.e. Gatorade or apple juice).
  • No Smoking: No smoking/vaping/marijuana for 5 days after surgery (to prevent dry sockets).
  • Confirmation of Schedule: Due to our high surgery volume, your surgery time may change. Please contact our office 24 hours before surgery to verify the final arrival time.
    • Be prepared to wait. Although we do our best to stay on time, delays are not uncommon.
    • We reserve the right to reschedule your surgery based on lack of medical information, recent vaccinations, cold/flu like symptoms or sinus infections.
  • Cancellation Policy: Please give the office 48 hours advanced notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment to avoid a $100 fee.
